Our Clinical Trials

NeuroScience, Inc. is pleased to provide clinical trials for adults, teens, and children.

Clinical research studies provide important information about drug treatments that may help millions of people. People may take part in studies to benefit themselves (that is, as a way to feel better) or to contribute to research that may help others. Participants and their families may benefit by gaining a deeper understanding of the condition being studied.

Before beginning a study, participants are given full information about the study, including the reasons for the study and what to expect at each office visit. All participation is voluntary. Throughout every study, patients’ rights and interests are protected by a group of independent community representatives, known as an Institutional Review Board (IRB). Dr. Saylor and his staff are also committed to the well-being of study participants and are available 24 hours a day.

There is no charge for participation in a clinical research trial, and health insurance is not needed. Participants are compensated for time and travel.

  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) (Teens ages 13-17)

Information for Clinical Trial Participants

All clinical research studies at NeuroScience, Inc. are conducted under the direction of licensed healthcare professionals. Researchers comply with strict federal guidelines and safeguards to protect study participants. Additionally, an Institutional Review Board – which is typically made up of physicians, scientists, statisticians, community advocates, and former patients – helps to ensure that clinical research studies are ethical and that the rights of patients are protected. Information about clinical research studies at NeuroScience, Inc. appears below:

  • Study participants (adults and children) receive study-related psychological evaluations, a DSM-IV diagnosis, lab assessments (chemistry, hematology, urinalysis), ECGs, physical exams, and study medications at no charge. Participants are reimbursed for travel expenses.
  • People can make appointments immediately. There are no waiting lists because ample time is allocated for clinical research studies, and there are multiple providers. Patients receive careful, ongoing medical supervision from licensed and Board-certified professionals.
  • Participants and their families may benefit by gaining a deeper understanding of their condition (e.g., depression, anxiety, ADHD).
  • After a study ends, participants receive an Assessment Summary and copies of their laboratory work and ECG results as they make a transition back to primary care. Referrals are provided as needed. For adult patients who currently don’t have a physician, NeuroScience, Inc. provides up to 4 Aftercare visits with the staff physician at no charge.
  • Many clinical research studies include medications that already have received approval and are being studied for other indications or as adjunctive treatments. For example, in a currently enrolling study, all participants receive an approved medication, and some receive an add-on medication as well.
  • Study participation is voluntary, and patients can discontinue at any time.
  • The medications prescribed today are available because people participated in clinical trials.
